This year we had a tough cricket; even Indian team had hard luck in the ICC T20. There is nothing to be blamed with neither the selectors nor the commission. The Tri series leaves nothing to be described about our team young legs. The ICC WC 2011 is around the corner, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh going to host it. At this point of view, Indian team should concentrate on their game i.e. bowling, fielding & should consider few players to play their natural game.
Hopefully the lord of the venue, Sachin Tendulkar will be playing. The opening pair will be very strong such that Sachin & Shewag will start the innings. Even the top order batsman will be filled out with Gambir, Raina & Yuvraj.
The middle order will be taken care by our captain Dhoni. The lower middle order is the biggest question, no real guesses at all. The top lower order batsman will be Harbahjan. When it comes to seamer’s, Zaheer will be in the playing eleven. These eight players will be confirmed; only in case of any injuries there might be few changes.
The areas to be focused by our team will be specially bowling & fielding. There are really big hitters in the squad, so no problem with that. When it comes to bowling, the economy of Indian team bowler is almost above Five & half. If this continues then the runs we concede in one match by our bowlers will be surely above 280+. The target becomes tough, in case of early wickets of our batsman. We lost the game. Next is fielding, there was few many misfield by our young legs in the Tri-series. This should be avoided in the ICC WC.
Thus Players should be focused in fielding. When it comes to the playing 11, I left 3 players, in that one will surely be an all rounder, then the other two will be a seamer.
Which players can be filled in that gap??
My guess will be, Praveen Kumar, though he can swing the ball in both directions & other possibility will be either Sreesanth or R.P. Singh. The all rounder will be Yusuf. I personally feel that, playing eleven with 3 regular seamers will be a correct choice.

Hi its almost a gud pick i can say !! but when it comes to fielding Yusuf & sreesanth really sinks… yusuf can be bearable since he is an allrounder,but sree cant..so better way is to take Nehra where he is also a gud swinger of the ball or else since the hosts are to be at India , Srilanka , and Bangladesh we can opt for a spinner i.e Mishra. here i can just reveal u some names that i would like these players to be in squad atleast.

Robin Uthappa should definitely be part of WC 2011 squad if India has to lift WC 2011.
Get rid of Ravindra Jadeja, Yousuf Pathan, Ishant Sharma and Rohit Sharma for sure. With these players in the team, India doesn’t stand any chance of winning WC 2011. Rohit Sharma is not able to perform at international level. Y. Pathan knows only one way to play and that is just hitting six. If one gets miss timed, he is out. Ishant Sharma is very inconsistent bowler and leaks runs like anything. Ravindra Jadeja is pathetic of all. He neither can bat nor ball. Don’t understand why he is getting chance after chance.

ya i agree with Mr.sathish, there is a politics in team selection, actually our own present team captain does not play better cricket as a batsman. During 20-20 world cup , he could have come and played a captain role during crucial overs, but he send jadega to bat who just entered international cricket….we were out of tournament. Also now a days Yuvraj singh has lost his confidence, our Middle order is very weak for 50 overs game. Murali Vijay,Rohit Sharma, Dinesh Karthik are just 20-20 players, they are nt able to bat under pressure..so Selecters must pick the players balanced equally with batting as well as bowling.., otherwise we would loose the game in league matches itself.

Ya frnds we can’t forget what the WALL (Dravid) has done for the Indian Cricket Team. He is the only person who can strengthen the middle order for India. In his absense in the team we have seen many players batting at no. 3 but no one could match him. If India wants to win the WC 2011, the first thing the selectors must do is take Dravid in the team. You can’t keep such a great & legendry player out of the Squad. This will be a great insult to him. Inspite of proving many times that he is capable of being in the squad, he is not being taken in the Indian team & just because some players are Dhoni’s Good frnd, they are taken in the team. It doesn’t matter whether they perform well or not, all that matters is they are captains frnd & hence will play in the team. Pls If we really want to win the WC 2011, then we should select the players on basis of their performance & not on the basis of their references. Lets not forget Rahul dravid and robon uttapah because both of them have performed exceptionally in the past and their current form is also very good, As we all know Dravid can handle any situation of the game, so if the oppurtunity is given he will prove t once again, if somebody performs well then never mind the age factor, it dosen mean that seniors cannot perform . Imagine dhoni is younger than sachin, but still sachin is consistent he is performing in every match he plays. Unfortunately dada retired because of politics but atleast dravid should be given a chance, and remember robin is in the form of his life, so i would suggest robin should be in.

It will take 10 consecutive ducks to take Murali Vijay to get out of the Squad.. Probalby lot of Caste and Region Oriented Cricketing Politics is helping his cause and many good poor players not able to mark their mark… so sad.. 🙁

3.Kohli/Gambir – Any one will take a chance based on the form.
4.Dravid – He deserves a place in the playing in 11 to

5.Raina – Really talented aggressive young player
6.Dhoni – Has the most responsibility as captain to
lead our team to victory
7.Tiwary – An aggressive player at No. 7 is definitely
needed for a big chase or for a big score. He
will fill this slot, if yuvraj is still out
of form. He didn’t get enough chances in ODI
but has shown enough faith. .
8.Irfan/Harbajan – A lower middle order all rounder is a must
for a winning team. Yusuf can be in the slot,
if irfan doesn’t show his form. Everyone
like irfan pathan but he has to prove more in
his bowling. He should realize the importance
of his role
9.Praveen – He has shown enough consistency to be in the
eleven
10.Ojha – A specialist spin bowler should be in the
list though we have part time spinners. If
Harbajan comes in place of Irfan, then we can
go for a seamer to fill this slot. Three
seamers formula will be better
since we have more part time spinners.
11.Zaheer – He is the leader of our current seamers
12.Harbajan – His bowling is not at his best but has rich sprit and enthusiasm
13.Nehra – He is the second choice after zaheer, has some
great swing but should improve on his fitness.
14.Munaf – There are some woes about his fitness but has
experience and talent for the replacement of
praveen.
15.Yuvraj – Everyone will be happy, if he regains his
natural form
16.Gambir – Gambir is one of the best opening batsman,
will show his form soon. We may miss him in he
eleven because of dravid’s inclusion and
sachin/sehwag combination.

second choice wicket Keeper, if dravid
couldn’t make his entry or if anyone is

M.Vijay – Yet to prove his form in ODI.
Rohith Sharma – Has some class but should be consistent and
should show more dedication. I don’t agree with the support of Kristen on him over kohli. Kohli has proved enough consistency and has cool head to build partnership under pressure. Rohith has done more in 20-20 format but not in ODI.
Mithun, Ishant, sreesanth
and other young bowlers need more time to shape themselves. I have no idea about the current form of RP Singh. He too has considerable experience.
