Indian team is flying directly from England to West Indies to play a four ODI match series. Surely, there was no breathing time in between the WT20 and this tour, although the Indian team has found some time to re-assemble after their early exit from WT20.
This will be the last leg of the 2008-2009 season that started in October with Australian visiting India.
Indian Squad for the WI Tour
The Indian squad for the Caribbean tour has been announced. Fatigue and injuries playing a big role in the selection is very evident, while, individual performances in IPL also get due recognition.
What went wrong with the Indian Team at the ICC World Twenty20 Super8?
After the early exit of Indian team from the tournament, commentators, media and critics got busy with finding out the “exact” cause of the poor performance of the team. Rightly so, when there are no more matches to be played by the Indian team, that is the only thing they can talk about.
If there was an award for a team for best coverage around the world (whether or not winning matches) India would have won it by now already.
ICC World Twenty20: India reaches the Semifinals!
Now, that is one heading I really wanted to write a post with… but Indian team’s performance in the Super8 let me down.
Nevertheless, the Indian team in Women’s T20 WC has given me this chance…

Indian Women’s Team defeated Pakistan and Sri Lanka in their group matches to reach to the Semifinal stage.

With India losing to South Africa last night, the Super8 stage is over.
Three big teams- India (who started the tournament as the favorites), England (the host nation) and New Zealand (the only one team that Indians have never been able to defeat in T20) along with Ireland (the “nothing to lose” team) pack their bags to say goodbye to the biggest tournament of the shortest form of cricket.
